We will have our monthly meetup feast-ival at Balboa Park (close to Nature's Express, so if you forget to bring
a dish, you can always buy something raw there). Please bring a raw vegan dish (preferably organic) to share with the group. If you can create an index card/paper with the name of your dish (if it has one) and the ingredients (as some people do not consume certain things and we'd all like to know what is in it).

If you do not know what to make/bring, you can simply bring fruit, such as oranges, grapes (if still in season), container of cherry tomatoes, apples or any other seasonal fruit that is available in October. The Hillcrest Farmer's Market is located nearby on Normal St off of University Avenue and there are open till 2pm, so you
can always stop by there and pick up some fresh fruit.

Since we will be in the park, there will probably be limited tables to use, so I ask if someone would be so kind
as to volunteer to bring a table or two to put the food on (buffet style). You will also need to bring your own
plates, forks, spoons, napkins and cups. Don't forget a serving utensil for your dish or a knife if you plan to bring whole fruit and cut it up there. Also, bring your own chairs/blankets for sitting.

We will also have a JAM session, as in music! If you have any instruments (your voice or things such as
a drum, tambourine, etc) please bring it with you and the rest of you can also join in and DANCE!

I look forward to seeing you there!

Blessings and Rawsome Health!

For our September Meetup Feast-ival, we will be gathering at Spreckels Park in Coronado. It is a loverly place
to gather together and the beach is also nearby. There is a concert taking place (the final one at this park)
at 5pm with the band, Sophisticats. Some further information about the park: SPRECKELS PARK – The granddaddy of Coronado parks covers eight acres in the center of town and features a playground and a gazebo, plus picnic tables and restrooms. The gazebo is the site of the Summer Concert Series, the Annual Flower Show, Art-in-the-Park and other community activities throughout the year. Donated by and named after one of Coronado’s city father’s J.D. Spreckels in 1927.

Please bring a raw vegan dish to share (preferably organic) and include an index card/paper with the name of the dish and the ingredients (some people may have allergies/dislike certain things) If you do not know what to bring or make, fruit is always good (such as watermelon, berries, grapes, etc). Since we are at the park and there may not be tables available to us when we get there, I ask that someone bring a table or two. You will also need to bring your own blankets or chairs for seating. You will also need to bring your own plates, napkins, cups, utensils for eating and serving utensils for your dish.

DIRECTIONS: Take 5 South to Coronado Bay Bridge and once you get off the bridge, go to Third Street and then make a left on Orange Avenue. Take Orange Avenue and drive past Tenth Street and look for parking near the park. You will notice that the park has a round gazebo in the middle. That is where the band will be playing. Centrally located, Spreckels Park takes up a long city block area off Orange Ave., between Sixth and Seventh Ave, where diagonal avenues Palm and Olive end.

I look forward to seeing you there and hope you will stay for the band to dance and boogie into the evening!

To your abundant rawsome health

We will have our August Potluck at Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach. There is a beautiful scenic view of the water from that vantage point. If you have never been to this park, it is really nice and has some nature
trails I wasn't aware of until I went on on walk with the canyoneers from the Natural History Museum. I will to have a sign and/or balloons so you can find us.

Please bring a raw vegan dish to share with the group. Also, please bring your own plate, cup, napkins and utensils and serving utensils for any dish you prepare. Since we will be outdoors and there aren't many benches for sitting, please also bring a blanket or chair.
If anyone has a tablecloth we can use to put down for the food that would be great! I also ask if anyone has a folding table to bring. Luann has agreed to bring one already, but I'd like to have an extra one, too.

I also request that you write out on a piece of paper your dish and the ingredients, in case someone wants to know or may be allergic/dislike something in the dish.

For those of you who haven't been to this park, it is off Lamont Street in Pacific Beach.
If you are coming from the 5 Freeway, you will take Garnet Avenue going west (towards the beach) and
then turn right on Lamont (going north) and then take it all the way up to the park (it will start to get a bit
steep and hilly and that is where you will turn in right to the parking lot). Please note the time change to 2pm instead of 1pm due to the concert and it will give us 2 hours to enjoy eating together.

I look forward to seeing you there!
It will be nice to do this in an outdoor park setting for a change and I have some other wonderful places
in mind for future potlucks. We had a great turnout at Nature's Express and will plan to do it there
again in the near future.

As an added bonus, there will be a free summer concert at 4pm with the band, Rockola (they are a really good cover band) so get your dancing shoes/barefeet ready to boogie on the grass!

I am happy to announce that the Meetup Feast-ival (formerly called potluck) for July will be taking place at Nature's Express in Hillcrest. They have hosted us once before and Mitch, the owner, is happy to oblige again. He is offering a discount of $1.00 dollar off to all who attend to try the soft serve raw ice cream

Please bring a raw vegan (preferable organic) dish to share with others. If you do not know what to make then there will be a wide variety of raw dishes offered at the restaurant that you can buy. Also, please bring your own plates, cups and utensils to use (even though they have them at the restaurant, I'd rather not impose on their need to provide us with such things). Please, also remember to bring a serving utensil for your dish.

I look forward to meeting new faces, as well as, those I know. Please don't hesitate to bring your family, friends, co-workers, etc. that would like to be around like-minded people who enjoy being together and eating the best food on the planet!

In an effort to help the planet by diminishing the use of plastic bags for shopping, I will be offering various assorted bags (mostly the ones the fold up into small sacks) from various companies at a discounted price
(below the retail cost). I have limited items from the companies I am promoting and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. In addition, for each purchase made, you will receive a free gift (based on what you buy).

Look for the August Meetup Feast-ival to take place at Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach.

The June potluck will be held at Balboa Park. Please bring a raw vegan dish (preferably organic) to share with others. If you do not know what to prepare, you can always bring fruit, as everyone loves it. Some ideas would be berries, melons, grapes, cherries, apples, etc. At this time of year fruit is in abundance and readily available.

Please bring your own plates/bowls, forks, spoons, cups and napkins. Also bring your own chair/blanket for seating, as I don't know how many benches are available. I also ask if someone could please bring a portable table (for the food) and tablecloth, as I would greatly appreciate it.

I will not be attending this month, as I have other commitments.
If you have any other ideas where we can have our potlucks and/or would be
willing to share your home/space, please contact me through the meetup site to
discuss this further.

I look forward to seeing you at the potluck in July.

The May potluck will take place by Ski Beach/Crown Pt. Shores.
We had a wonderful time there for the Gianni event (even though it was an overcast day)
that I decided to have our potluck there.

For your information on getting to this location, if you are coming from the north and going south
on Ingraham Street, then turn left into Vacation Road and then turn left again driving around and park
in the area that is parallel to the water. If you are coming from the south and going north on Ingraham
Street, then turn right into Vacation Road and follow directions as above.

Please bring a raw vegan dish to share (also, organic if possible) and serving utensils.
Also, please bring your own plates, cups, utensils and napkins.
Seating is limited at the few picnic tables, so please bring your own chair and/or blanket.
If someone has a couple of tablecloths to put on the picnic table(s), I'd appreciate it!

I look forward to seeing you at the potluck!
For June, I will look into some other locations and perhaps do it again at Nature's Express,
as it was very enjoyable and well attended.

Sunday, March 29th, 2-4 pm at Ski Beach/Crown Pt. Shores in San Diego. Hosted by San Diego Vegan Raw Meetup.

We now have a couple of sponsors for our events and you will receive samples to take home with you.
You will try some Zico Natural Coconut Water and take home a sample of Don't Bite Me Patch that you put on your skin the bugs will not bite you and it is all natural. I am a purist and wouldn't use it if it wasn't up to my high standards. I have used it and it really works and my testimonial is on their website. Click on the link here:

The Kale Whale Experience: See the veg-oil fueled green RV and meet Kevin and Annmarie Gianni, hosts of The Renegade Health Show. The dynamic duo are traveling the country, exploring the culture of natural health in America and sharing their experiences along the way. You are invited to be a part of this amazing journey! Find out more on www.TheRenegadeHealthShow.com.

Kevin will be discussing both the Tour and High Raw, a simple and conscious approach to living healthfully, eating right, and saving the world, and will show the veg-oil fuel system. Contest: help us find 100 gallons of unfiltered, used vegetable oil, and win a bottle of Island Fire (raw noni juice superfood supplement from Elements for Life!)

The location is now official and we do not need a permit to use the space.
It is at Ski Beach/Crown Pt. Shores off of Ingraham Street adjacent to Pacific Beach (if you are coming from the north and going south on Ingraham you would turn in left on Vacation Road after you go over one bridge, but if you go over the next bridge which which is closer to Sea World, then you went too far. Then go left again and keep driving until you see the big RV with the name on the outside "Renegade Health Show." If you are coming from the south and going north on Ingraham then you turn right on Vacation Rd. and then make a left and keep driving until you see the large RV with the name on the outside "Renegade Health Show."

Please bring your own blanket and/or chair for seating, as there is limited picnic table around.

This is not a potluck, but you are welcome to bring something to share with you group if you'd like (such as fruit, etc.) If you do bring something that requires utensils, plates, napkins, etc you will need to provide that on your own.

As as added bonus, Barry Koral of Barry's Tropical Fruit Farm in Vista will be coming by to sell his incredible fruits at the end of the presentation (he has items, depending on the season, such as meyer lemons, oranges, avocados, star fruit, sapotes, cherimoyas, etc). You may be familiar with Barry if you ever go to the Hillcrest Farmer's Market on Sundays.

This will be an incredible event and not to be missed!
