Subject: Tijuana 1/2 marathon, an invitation to the American running community on Sun. July 13
Date: Sun, 22 Jun 2008

Amigos,

As many of you know, I was born and raised in the bordering city to San Diego, Tijuana, Mexico and it is my pleasure to invite
you to join me in running and celebrating Tijuana's anniversary half marathon race on Sunday, July 13th, 2008 at 7:30 AM. I am
working with the meet director, Erik Morales (a 3 time light-weight world champion boxer) and his staff from Tijuana Mexico to help
promote his 1/2 marathon race in the U.S. The official entry registration forms in English are available at any Movin' Shoes
stores in San Diego and registrations are free. Post race (beer garden) sponsored by CERVEZA TECATE. The accurate 13.1 mile course is fast and flat as a tortilla; I helped design it and has
been approved by the IAAF and the Mexican Athletic Federation. This race has the largest prize money ever awarded in Tijuana road
racing history, awarding a total of approxitmely $50,000 dollars. The money will be awarded to the top 5 men, top 5 women, the
top 3 in every age group, and the top 3 overall wheelchairs. The award breakdown for the top 5 overall is as follows:

1st $4,200
2nd $3,200
3rd $2,200
4th $1,200
5th $700

Age group prizes: 1st $600, 2nd $300, 3rd $200

Wheelchair prizes: 1st $600, 2nd $300, 3rd $200

For more details and free registration, contact me via email: laflecha1350@hotmail.com

Gracias!!!!!!
~Hector Hernandez-Salazar

PS There will be V.I.P accommodations to all U.S. runners and elite athletes (secure football field area)

H2O every 2 kilometers. Also, shuttle transportation from the border to the stadium CREA (start and finish are at the same place). You can park your car in San Ysidro and walk across (about 100 yard walk), race staff will be guiding the runners to the shuttle bus as soon as you cross. The start of the race (CREA stadium) is one mile from the border, after the race the same shuttle will be available for U.S. runners to go back whenever they are ready. We also have a fun/family/recreational 2K race on the same morning for those who are not ready to run the 13.1 mile race. All U.S. runners and elite athletes will have a wrist band so they can enter the V.I.P. area where the elite athletes will be.

Every runner from the US will be comp. (free registration) I got the lower bib numbers to distribute in the US and all I need is the athletes basic race entry info suich as: full name, age (DOB), address, email address, PH, running club and best half time P.R. so I can officially enter runners in the data base and start saving those bibs for US runners. Any questions please feel free to cantact me anytime.

Hey Rob,

I just sent Hector my information. I'm registered for the AFC half in August, but this seems like an interesting event. If you're in, I'm in. It will be fun to run it with you. Just don't leave me in the dust.

Great! Looking forward to the run. Carpooling to the border sounds good as well.
