Starbucks Meet & the Beach

Come out and play at the beach with us!!! We've been doing the Tuesday morning run at the beach for over a few years now. It's been wonderful to see all of you come and go and those of you who are regulars. Keep in mind that this run happens rain or shine. For those of you who have been wanting get an early start to your day but haven't been able to talk your body into waking up early enough, this week is your chance. :o)

We are kicking it up a notch for those who want to improve their running with alternating workouts of Speed on the boardwalk and running on the Soft Sand.  If you'd like to come out and do a basic run along the boardwalk and turn around whenever you want, you are welcome too. But really...why wake up early to be basic.  Get a GREAT workout with some SAND or SPEED.


This turbo charging sand workout is done on the loose sand closest to the sea wall.  We'll jog over from the Starbucks to the boardwalk and start running on the sand all the way to South Mission. Head over to the bathrooms there for water and then turn back on the sand. It's a total of 6 miles there and back.


We do a couple speed workouts.  A ladder style of 4 min warm up / 2 min / 2 min / 4 min / 4 min / 8 min / 4 min / 4 min / 2 min / 2 min / 4 min cool down with 1 min breaks in between. Increase intensity with every interval


5 min warm up with 6 min / 5 min / 4 min / 3 min with 2 min breaks in between and then cool down.


The train leaves at 6:05am as a matter of respect for those who have a boss. Most people are at a conversational pace of 9 minute / mile. ***If you are slower than a 9min/mile conversational pace, you are welcome to join us. Please make a note in your RSVP so that others who are at your pace can plan to come and join you*** It's cold right now so wear gloves and a light outer layer.  You will most likely be warm after 5 minutes or so. We're outta there by 7am.
