Full Moon Run

*Update* We'll meet at the intersection of Neptune and Bonair along Wind n Sea beach. If the tide permits we'll run along the beach, up to Coast Blvd, then along the trail above the La Jolla caves (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5968850). If the waterline is too high we'll take the roads to Coast Blvd. Simple out-and-back course, a tad less than 5 miles. It'll probably be bright enough w/o a headlamp but feel free to bring them.

Been awhile since we've done one of these and since this month's full moon is "super", it's an opportunity we should take advantage of. I want to scope out a few spots before posting the location but we'll definitely do something coastal so we can watch the waves of the high tide wash against the shore. I'll update this post with a course map once I do that. Sunset is at 8 pm so let's meet at 7:45 and start the run right after the sun dips past the horizon. I'll bring my jet boil and some packets of Swiss Miss instant cocoa (now with calcium!) for afterwards.

Fun running with you guys, hope I didn't hold you up too much! Btw, best hot cocoa I think I've yet to taste...must be the calcium, good call.

I hate to be a bummer, but the outlook isn't too good for a visible moon at the coast by 8pm tonight... marine layer. :-( But I'll still be there!

Hi everyone! Looking forward to this Sunday! I feel like we should make this a sort of critical mass event where we take to the streets and assert our pedestrian (noun not adjective) rights. Speaking of which, since we will likely spill out into the streets, and some lawns, and maybe an unattended hot tub if we're lucky, please remember that safety is our priority and personal responsibility. Should we take the coastal route we will be running on sand, in sea and along rocks that will be slippery. Remember to bring some warm clothes to throw on afterwards. I plan on bringing some snacks and drinks but not enough for 60 people because holy crap this thing blew up.

i'm not sure if I want to risk navigating slippery rocks in the dark... not wanting an injury right now! but hopefully it won't be like that
