Come get a great workout and a coffee afterwards. This Starbucks Meet & Run is designed to include a scenic view of downtown San Diego along with a great stairs workout around the convention center stairs and the pedestrian bridge over Harbor Drive near the Hilton Embarcadero.
The meeting place is in front of Starbucks on Fifth Avenue and Laurel. The course is downhill to start into downtown for about 1.5 miles then we hit the convention center for a break out session with the stairs. There will be a bail-out option for those who are still waking up and want to run 1 mile less. After the stairs at the convention center we head south towards the Hilton and across the pedestrian bridge for another set. The southern view which include the Coronado bridge is breathtaking if the stairs hasn't done that to you already.
Sometimes there is a surprise can of tush woopin' for extra credit - a few more sets of stair repeats...nothing to be scared about OR we have a breakout session with some planks or burpees on the grass in front of the ferry landing.
Then we run north along Seaport Village pass the USS Midway to Broadway where we turn right into the heart of downtown. This is perfect timing to see the city turn on as we head up 5th Ave for the final hit of the SNOOZE button. Meet at 6:00am so... THE TRAIN CAN LEAVE AT 6:05am...to be respectful of those who have a not-so-cool boss.

This is a 6 mile run with stairs and a long gradual hill to finish. Please plan your training accordingly.
********** If you are an inexperienced runner or brand new to running, the Tues/Thurs 6am run may be discouraging. You may end up running alone if you can't keep up with the pack or you may show up at the finish and no one is there. It would be better for you to go to the evening runs: Monday Balboa Park, Tuesday Downtown or Wednesday Mission Bay. There are a lot of runners at those runs and most likely you'll find a group with your pace. In addition, there are lots of experienced runners that will gladly give you great advice and there is plenty of time to do so since most are not dashing off after the run to get ready for work.****************************
