Ted's 3 mile run (5K), on the Prado.

This 3 mile run is a great way to start the weekend. (There is also a 2 mile version of the course.)  3 miles is a perfect distance for beginners.  3 miles is also great distiance for intermediate, and elite runners.  Runner's World Magazine' s philosophy is that shorter runs, at a fast pace, improves half marathon- and marathon times (faster splits)!  This is a scenic run through historic Balboa Park. This is your tour of Balboa Park, on the run! We run past many of the park's attractions. We may choose to do a core workout after the run. We will meet in front of the Hall of Champions. ( I think that it is safer to have a lighted parking lot next to the meetup area.) To get to the Hall of Champions, take Park Blvd. and turn on to Presidents' Way. The Hall of Champions is located at the corner of Presidents' Way and Pan American Road.

We had another great run, with cooler temps, and 9 attendees.

We also had 3 new faces. We talked about the Kate O. Sessions Commemorative Tree - across from the Organ Pavillion ( Sorry, Kate! Your Tree is a little stunted. Could use some watering, too.)

Great to be back. I was kind of out of synch, and a female driver who seemed to be gazing her eyes at us pack of runners and destroyed her side rear view mirror by slamming into the stop sign. Even when it was difficult for me, the guys stayed patient and they learned the course. I was pleased and the lady in black was an interesting character. Nice little change to our evening. Great job everyone. :)

Suffered a somewhat catastrophic running injury in late July (catastrophic enough to prevent me from running since then). I'm hoping that some day I can actually come out and do this run again.
