Daley Ranch Half Ultra Marathon (25k) and Trail Fun Runs

Join us as we do our best to make up for the loss of the Cuyamaca 3 Peaks 50k & Stonewall Half Marathon and set up a nice little 25k loop in the park for everyone.

We will have shorter run maps available so that everyone can enjoy the park, from hikers to serious ultra runners.

Start time 7:30am (then off to Stone Brewery for anyone who wants to share stories?).

Some details: There is not an official event (permitted), but just a group run. Racing it is up to you and results will be self reported.

There is no aid on the course, so plan ahead. I will try to hike to some points on the way to be able to refill a little water.

If you are concerned about the heat, plan on doing one of the shorter options (all beautiful) and enjoying the park.

Weather forcast: Low 68, High 91. We should mostly be done relatively early before the heat of the day.

July 13th.

OK, hopefully this is the final run update before we hit the trails!

    1. This is not, technically, a race. You can, of course, choose to race (test your limits), but there is not a formal start, finish, aid station, course markings, or results. Feel free to run real hard ... but it will a personal test. 2. Course maps will be provided at the start.

    3. We will attempt to get to a couple of places to make sure people go the right way and even try to resupply some water. You should attempt to be self sufficient though.

    4. Try to be on time so we can get started ... if you are late there is chance you will not get a course map because there is only one of me and I need to try to get up the hill with water too.

    5. Have fun. Run with a smile. Enjoy the scenery. Be amazed by the ranch and it's beauty.

    6. See you on the trails (and maybe at Stone)!!!!

I'm not really a trail runner, but there's a first time for everything. Why not start with a Half Ultra, right?

Does anybody know whether there'll be any water stations on race day?

It is not really a race. It is a run. You can choose to run as fast as you, like of course. No aid stations ... so carry your stuff yourself. We might try to get some course support out there, but mostly it is about hitting the trails and having fun.
