ed's waterfront run: dress-up dash 2012

SPECIAL EVENT: Join us in dressing up and getting funny looks from all of the tourists :) This is undoubtedly the biggest waterfront run of the year. Prizes awarded to best costume. We will be doing a modified version of the course that will take us through the Gaslamp and the heart of Little Italy in addition to the Embarcadero, and WE'LL ALL BE RUNNING IT TOGETHER AS A GROUP at an easy pace, ending our run at the Waterfront Bar & Grill. INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!! Needless to say, it's going to be a blast and a half. CLICK HERE for pictures from last year's event.

*** This modified version of the run is 4 miles. We will be going at a really slow pace as one big group and obeying all traffic regulations. If you'd like to see the exact route, please see the details below. We will finish the run directly at the Waterfront Bar and Grill (not the County Administration Center), so bring you're ID, money, and any other necessary items with you ***

*** Also, for those of you who have not been to the run in a while, we can no longer park in the lot adjacent to the County Administration Center. There's tons of street parking. Please park there. ***

My name is ed and I will be your host for ed's waterfront run: embarcadero edition; a friendly, welcoming environment where joggers, speedsters, and everyone in between can meet others who share their love (or hate) for running :)

It's called the Waterfront Run for two reasons. One is that this scenic route runs along the beautiful San Diego Harbor, through Seaport Village and the Embarcadero (and the Gaslamp for dress-up dash). But secondly, and more importantly, it's the name of the real highlight of this run: the Waterfront Bar and Grill. It's located two blocks away from the start/finish of the run. We'll be going there after the run for $1.50 fish tacos, refreshing drinks, and Good Times with Good People. You could even be the new "closing champion"!

For the dress-up dash, we will be running a modified route that will take us through the Gaslamp and the heart of Little Italy in addition to the Embarcadero. CLICK HERE for the map.

Meet at 6:00pm. We'll get started promptly at 6:15pm.

See you there!

ed :)

Meet by the statue at the west (ocean) side of the San Diego County Administration Center. Click here for map . There is tons of street parking and since it's after hours, it's free.
Do not park in the lot adjacent to the County Admin Center. Or you can choose to park by the Waterfront Bar and Grill to make it easier for yourself when you leave. The Waterfront is located at 2044 Kettner Blvd and is within walking distance of the start/finish.

The group ran a little fast and not everyone, including myself, was able to keep a fast pace while wearing a costume. It would have been fun to keep a light jogging pace and all run together.
