Stammtisch-Lite is a German language and cultural appreciation group. It is a more entry level group compared to the other "San Diego Stammtisch" group. The meetings are very similar to the higher-level Stammtisch meetings. However, all levels are welcome in Lite from those who do not speak a word of German to native speakers. The conversation is usually about 60-90% in German. It's a relaxed environment where you can talk about Germany in English or practice German and meet others with the same interest without having to feel too intimidated. If you are not ready to try speaking only German, want to bring a guest or spouse to a meeting who is not yet conversational in German or just want to meet Germans or Americans that have an interest in German Language and Culture this is the place to come. Those who have become confident that they are ready to try speaking German in nearly full immersion and close to full speed can then test their mettle in San Diego Stammtisch. - http://german.meetup.com/77/about/

“Hello, I'm Darren. I took four years of German in High School and was an exchange student in Germany. Love the language and the people, but regrettably I have forgotten a lot in the last few years and am looking to revive my language skills.”
