Train Trip to San Juan Capistrano

Let's get out of the "county" and catch the train up to Orange County for lunch, wine tasting and to explore the historic village of San Juan Capistrano. Passports are not required!

Here is my cell number in case you need to reach me: 650-906-4912

Below is a link to a printable map, showing restaurants, shops and historic buildings in the village: Map of San Juan Capistrano

When we get off the train, our first stop will be Sarducci's for lunch. After lunch we'll do some wine tasting and walk through the village visiting local shops and art galleries. Check out Sarducci's here: http://www.capistrano...

The wine tasting place was closed down and a few folks didn't want to spend the $$ to tour the Mission, but lunch was good and fun to see the town.

Great concept. SJC is a little too short to get into the train vibe. Need more like a couple hours. It would be good to do again and select a trip of a few hours and a destination with more to do. Didn't know the trip was blended with another group. Good to know in order to get to know the other peeps too.

I had a very good time meeting fellow travelers and hearing their travel stories and recommendations, so this was really the highlight of the trip. The mission at SJC was nice to visit, but I wish we could've seen a lot more of the town other than Swallow's Inn =)
