What are annual donations and event contributions

The previous $18 yearly membership fee (a little too much to demand - and no one was paying anyway) was changed to a $12 suggested annual donation. This means you may donate as you deem fit. All monies collected is safely kept aside to be spent on our group as we see fit.

Meetup Contributions:
Instead of using the term Event fee, we now use Contribution since we are not charging a "fee" for a service; rather, you are asked to contribute your share to the cost of running our meetup events and the monthly fee the organizer pays to Meetup.com each month.

Regular meetup events: we ask that $1 per member be contributed. So, if both you and your partner/friend share the same membership, please contribute $2.00 for each month that you attend an event. We only ask for contributions once a month regardless of the number of events you attend. Some people have suggested that contributions should be based on the number of yorkies in a membership since some people have multiple yorkies and our group offers door prizes and other gifts for each yorkie in a membership. Feel free to contribute whatever amount you deem fair.

Special events: For certain special events, we will ask for contributions per yorkie. Examples of these types of events are Birthday parties or other functions that are charged on a per/pet basis. The contributions for special events will be announced in advance.

Your contributions to date have helped cover the monthly meetup.com fee, door prizes, birthday gifts, and other basic supplies which the organizer purchases to support the meetups.

No one will be ever be forced to contribute; it'd just be nice if everyone helped out. Likewise, if someone wanted to contribute an extra dollar here and there, please feel free (hint, hint, nudge, nudge).

The organizers are working on some sponsorships from pet stores, etc. That way, we can have more to give out to our yorkies at our meetup events.

$1.00 per month.

This covers: All meetup expenses. Any excess goes to Yorkie Rescue.
