Introduction

Hi! I've recently moved to San Francisco from Vancouver, although originally I'm from London, UK, via the Middle East. I'm thirty-six years old, work down in the Valley, and I'm a keen cyclist, surfer, movie-goer and traveller.

Where are you from?

I have a Syrian father and English mother. I grew up in the Middle East but moved to the UK when I was still young.

Favourite bar?

Haven't had enough time in San Francisco to find a favourite yet, although my favourite in Vancouver is the Alibi Room - fantastic beer selection.

Favourite sport?

I like cycling in its many forms - road, cross-country, touring and on the track. I picked up surfing after moving to the West Coast and look forward to finding some spots here in California. I like watching football (not soccer, FOOTBALL!) & cricket

Favourite beverage?

I like beers in the West Coast style - cold and refreshing, but also with some flavour. Negra Modelo from Mexico is also a favourite. I'm also a big fan of tequila and rum. As for wine, I like reds from Burgundy/Oregon or whites from Alsace.

Why did you join?

To make friends, relax with people who know how to enjoy a beer or two, and meet with people to watch a game or test match. Most of all though, I miss the old English wit and humour!

Hey Francis - great to see someone from another Meetup Cycling Group. feel free to call rides yourself as well. what distances are you comfortable with? FWIW this is my handy guide to Marin routes that start in SF. http://www.catseries.com/blog/ I'm interested in Sunday rides in the 40-130 mile range with later starts (9 or 10 or later.) we usually meet up at the Golden Gate Bridge Gift shop at the south end.
