    Thank you for your kind response and for looking up the articles. Two main elements distinguish film and stage fights from real fights - the essentially difference is that stage fights are illusion and require cooperation (communication and good partnering skills). There are theatrical violence techniques, formalized by British fight directors which were enhanced by American stage fight directors hence Stage Combat. SAFD set standards and certification levels.   • Do you have any stage combat certification - either from The Society of American Fight Directors or Dueling Arts International? Screen fighting and stage fighting are not divorced from good acting. MMA fight is opposite of good acting. Martial artists all have to be re-trained for film and stage.
