Review: Ramen at Katana-ya

Note #1: The restaurant opens at 11:30am and there maybe a short line waiting for it to open. We will get there around 11:15am to line up.


Note #2: This restaurant is small. We will most likely break into multiple tables/groups of 4.  They also do not take reservations, so a decent wait should be expected.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

By this time, we have tried I think the top 3 ramen shops in the south bay. It is time to head north and see what San Francisco has to offer. Katana-ya is one of the popular ramen places in S.F (3.5 stars with 2600+ yelp reviews). Is it because it is near the bars and clubs and people are just too drunk to tell the bad ramen from the good ramen? Come join me and let's find out.

    It is time to update your RSVP if you cannot make it. This place does not have a big table that can fit us all. So we will be sitting in small groups. It opens at 11:30am but I will be there a little bit early to line up. Hopefully, we can all get in for the first seating. See you tomorrow.

    That is a small place with small tables. ... I would not expect to sit together, or even to eat all at once, frankly.

      The place is tiny like David said. The food comes out quick. I usually get the Katana-ya ramen with miso broth. It has everything & the kitchen sink. They might use MSG so watch out for that if you're sensitive to it.
