So now I'm raving about how Cotogna and Flour & Water are my favorite Italian in SF and getting a lot of "How about La Ciccia?" from folks. To which I have to respond sheepishly that I have not been there yet. Time to fix that.
The menu: http://www.laciccia.com/la_ciccia/menu.html
The praise: Yelp (4.5 stars) | Bauer (3 stars for food)
The fine print: We will be doing family style and splitting the entire food bill equally. Everyone will pay for their drinks separately. Because the reservation is for four people only, and we are doing family style so that we can experience the greatest number of dishes at the restaurant, I ask that people who have any dietary restrictions not sign up for this table (but feel free to create a second table :)). Please note that the restaurant's cuisine is very seafood-focused.

More fine print: $1 nonrefundable RSVP to join our group. No shows and cancellations made within 24 hours of the event will be recorded as a demerit. Individuals with demerit(s) will be moved from "Attending" to "Waiting" for future events.
okay, folks, I called the restaurant and they can't do more than four on 3/9 at 8:30 PM. But they can take a table of six on 3/9 at 9 PM (half an hour later) or 3/8 at 8:30 PM. As a courtesy to people who already RSVP'd yes, I didn't want to change our reservation time or date without asking them. But if anyone else was on the fence about hosting a second table, this would be a great time to grab one of those six-person reservations available by phone.

given the interest, I will try to reach the restaurant when they open tonight to see if they can accommodate a couple more people at our table. (I tried to book for six and was told by OpenTable that there were no available reservations in the next month.)
