Open Hearth (open house) at the Urasenke San Francisco Foundation, which happens once monthly on Wednesday evenings. It's a 2 hour introduction to the Japanese Way of Tea, which forms the basis of kaiseki cuisine. Some of the monthly events feature amazing handmade kaiseki cuisine, served in the tearoom - as authentic as you will find in Kyoto!
30, Canadian, veterinarian. Just moved to the city 3 months ago from Kyoto, Japan where I was studying tea ceremony for a year. Am very keen to find some killer Japanese places in the city!
