National Trails Day Work Project at Midland School Ranch in Los Olivos
Saturday, June 2, 2012, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join the Santa Barbara Trails Council (SBTC), Los Padres Forest Association (LPFA) and SB County Outdoor Foundation (SBCOF) for a State Trails Day project on several spectacular Midland Ranch Trails, adjacent to Los Padres National Forest. The project is co-sponsored with Midland School and is designed to help complete brushing and tread work so the public may enjoy the trails this summer.

Over the past two months, thanks to a generous grant from the WW Foundation in Pasadena, SBTC has been improving existing trails and building new ones on Midland Ranch, which is part of the Midland School property and now managed as part of a conservation easement with the Land Trust for SB County. Our Trails Day project will put the finishing touches on several of those trails and perhaps even help us start on a new one.
Tools and instruction will be provided at the trailhead located at the base of Figueroa Mountain Road 6.7 miles from Highway 154. There is a large parking area on the right side of Figueroa Mountain Road where we will be meeting.
Please wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt and sturdy shoes. Also bring eye protection, a helmet and gloves if you have them. Sun glasses and a bike helmet work perfectly. We will also have these items available on site if you don't.

WHEN: 9am-3pm. Lunch at 2pm. We're meeting at the parking lot for the Grass Mountain trailhead at 9am and heading out to the trails at 9:30am.
BRING: Long pants, sturdy shoes, snacks, lots of water, sunscreen and your own gloves and helmet (bike helmets are perfect).
PROVIDED: Tools, water, cold drinks and a good lunch!
