Average guy who enjoys hiking in the company of like-minded individuals and well-behaved trail dogs.
First ascents, long alpine trad routes, 3rd/4th/low 5th class solo cross-country peakbagging, then trail running...then knitting.
I'm outdoors at least every other day; weekly isn't quite often enough.
HAHA, that is a classic Picture!! I need to keep that one on file- Thanks for the help the other night with your light as I retrieved my gear- I did not expect to meet so many awesome people, I've been hanging in the wrong places clearly! Catch up with Ya'll Wednesday I suppose. I will be heading south this Sat but free it looks like for Sunday...
Jeff, sorry to miss this hike as it is one of my favorites. I'll be in Montana. Just wanted to let you know that I did the Kilimanjaro hike in June and it was a great trek and I had no problems making it to the summit. Great trip, great experience. Your altitudes tips and hiking advice were useful and put to good use. Thanks for your part in my trip preparation. Again, it was a both a spiritual and physical high for me. Patty
Hi Jeff -- I was on Whitney last Saturday. I take it from your rapid identification of the location that you've been there a few times yourself?
Yes, that is Holcomb...good call! It's called Tombstone Shadow, a10a I think, and I flailed on it for a long time before finally doing it! I like Panictown, we'll be back, I just have to watch for the poison oak...me not pretty with P.O.!!!! (prednisone cocktail, anyone???)
Thank you, Mr. Elbows. In that case, I'll buy more chalk.
Thanks, Jeff! I love to occasionally climb! You know, the story about the dragon keeps changing; who knows what actually went down on Saturday... Can't wait to see Jack, I mean... all of you guys again :).
Thanks Jeff for welcoming me and looking forward to alot of fun climbing trips with the group .
Awesome! I'm ordering shoes today. I forgot about a writing seminar I'm doing on saturday afternoons, so I have to pass on the Alabama trip (although it sounds great and I'm a rain or shine kinda gal- you have to be when you grow up ski racing in northern new hampshire:) See you all Feb. 23rd... I also love yoga, sailing and am learning how to surf, so I'm up for it all! Pumped to meet some other outdoor enthusiasts. Be well, see ya soon.
Thanks for the laugh. Yes, as much as going back to high school (adam sandler style?) might be fun, I'm hoping to get back into climbing and really to be around people who enjoy the outdoors. I just moved here and you guys seem hilarious. I know the Feb. 15-17 is full so I'm interested in the Feb. 23 meet up (I live on W. Camino so I've got no excuses to come check it out) Where do I get shoes? I'm excited!
Thanks, Jeff! I'm excited to get out there with all of you!
