I brought along a friend and 1:00 is a late seating for lunch, so we were both very hungry and had other things to do in the afternoon. The line was around the block, and after standing in it and not moving at all after 15 minutes, we figured it would be 2:30 before we even sat down and ate. So we just left, without bowls and without lunch and went somewhere else to eat. This event is a great idea...and everyone seems to like going every year, but this year was either poorly planned or not well organized. I also wish they would have given us a heads up when I purchased the tickets over the phone about how long you have to wait in line, etc.

This was my first time. The event was well organized; the check-in for tickets was fairly fast, the ~20 min. wait in line was pleasant; the bowls were beautiful. I tasted the three vegetarian soups-- two soups were yummy; one was not so good. There was no whole-grain bread left for the one o'clock (last) seating.
Thanks to Gerry for the early heads up for this wonderful event before it sold out, and for making the effort to keep us together with name tags and checking on us, even though we didn't all get to sit together at one table. I met many new people and many old friends whom I hadn't seen in many years! I bought a beautiful bowl and felt good about one more way to help the Food Bank. I will definitely try to go again next year.
