Farm Tour with Rocky in Summerland

  • Jan 11, 2014 · 1:00 PM
  • Rockys Farm

Rocky Marciano is "Your Backyard Farmer" who loves to grow organic produce and flowers. He is also passionate about teaching others and will share his wisdom with us. We will also sample taste his Kale Chips!

CAR POOL IS ESSENTIAL - only 5 cars will be allowed on the farm. We will meet at Lookout Park overlooking Summerland Beach to arrange car logistics. There is a gate at the Farm and only the 5 cars belonging to the 20 people registered will be allowed in.

For those on the wait list, you can be dropped off but your car will need to be parked at the parking lot at Loon Point which is 1/2 mile away. There is NO parking along the road to the farm.

It was great to be back after a break and what a treat and so much fun! New ideas, new fruit & veggies to try growing on a tiny plot we've got in our backyard. Thank you Gerri, Rocky and Sabina! What a great example of dreams coming true: a new career working for yourself and enjoying it! So many of us dream of this as well as aspire to be backyard gardeners. Rocky, you've got both!

I found Rocky both inspiring and just plain funny. And his story -- well, he's built himself a satisfying career in such a short time -- what guts!

Rocky enjoyed sharing his passion for Backyard gardening with us. We all learned a few new pearls about growing unique food such as rhubarb, taro, papaya, chayote and asparagus. Members enjoyed sharing ideas with others....this is what the SB Food and Farm Adventures is all about :)

What time should we meet at Lookout park?

Just to clarify, those of us on the "Wait List" can still tour the farm as long as we do not park on the property?

  • Christina

So if we can't park... We can walk in correct?

Hi Judy - looks like the event is limited to 20 people so you will need to add your neighbor as your guest on your rsvp.

Love the chance to visit a local farm and farmer, taste his kale chips, learn more about growing food and flowers. Judy Sims
