A wonderful tour of a fabulous facility on a beautiful day! The property alone is worth seeing: lovely grounds with offices in a 1920s Craftsman Tudor-style building framed by giant redwoods across from a Mission Revival-style packinghouse. Like a trip to bygone days...except this is a very busy, lively place. A highlight for me was going inside the packinghouse & seeing an abundance of lemons traveling along a series of conveyor belts for inspection, processing & packing. Throughout the morning, our excellent guide, Mary, provided lots of information about Limoneira, its energy conservation efforts, lemons & their growth & processing, with special acknowledgement of the people working in the field & packinghouse. We began our tour in the orchard, & the tour ended there as well, with an invitation to pick lemons, oranges & grapefruit to take home. A big thank you to Gerri for arranging this tour, to Mary for the terrific info, & to Limoneira for opening their doors to our Meetup group

We all enjoyed learning about the incredible history of Limoneira and visiting the amazing packing facility. Mary Maranville, creator of Seeag answered our many questions about the orchards and Limoneira. Thanks to all.

Very interesting. Although it started late, the interesting facts more than made up for it.
