Plant a Food Forest at Orella Ranch on Gaviota Coast - Wait List

Volunteer with Guner Tautrim, sixth generation farmer whose family pioneered Orella Ranch  which is a  300 acre ranch on the beautiful Gaviota Coast. Guner's focus is sustaining the farm using "permanent culture" techniques,  strengthening the soil and preserving precious water resources.

Today's volunteer work will continue developing a food forest which began in March 2013 with the planting of 100 trees.  We will plant passion fruit and goji berries as part of the multi-species food forest. The day will start with a talk by Guner about his vision for agriculture lands on the Gaviota Coast. At the end of our efforts, we will enjoy food and refreshments and learn about how Jack Johnson supports healthy local farming. A pair of tickets for Jack Johnson concert at SB Bowl will be raffled off at the end of the day.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet Guner and help a local land steward make a real difference on the Gaviota Coast.

It's was a satisfying experience working together planting a permaculture guild of gogi berries, passion fruit and dragon fruit. Guner shared with us the history of this amazing property that we all thoroughly enjoyed in addition to the fabulous pizza and beverages

I just had to change my RSVP to "No" because I've been called out of town on this date. Have a great thyme! :-)

I am so disappointed I won't be able to attend. I will be picking my daughter up at LAX after her 6 weeks in Costa Rica and Panama studying permaculture! I really enjoyed East of Eden and this sounds like a great tour! Hope I can make the next one !
