Topic: "What do you mean I can't"
Speaker: Alice Chan
Alice Chan, Ph.D., devoted her life to living consciously. Her search for a meaningful life over the years led her to becoming an award-winning professor at Cornell University and a seasoned market research and business consultant. Following a near-fatal car accident in December 2008, she reconnected to her true mission in life, which is to help others rediscover who they are and love their lives.
Her daily spiritual practice and continued studies in raising her consciousness serves as her life’s anchor. For fun, she’s addicted to playing tennis, loves walks at Crystal Springs, and is an off-again, on-again ballroom dancer—more off than on in the past few years, and open to being on again! She loves food, and especially enjoy sharing it with engaging company.
What’s so special about this topic: It offers practical tips on how to master one part of our psychology that limits our success.

Alice Chan, you did an amazing job of providing all of us with a clear view of how we can all deal with our inner critic and much of that voice into a positive experience! THANKS, too, to Mindy Miller for continuing to arrange such great speakers, week after week!

Excellent presentation by Alice Chan!!! What I took from the presentation was the 5 techniques to manage our inner critique:
1. interrupt the inner voice (challenge/argue)
2. Invent a “power move” to use whenever you want to interrupt your inner critique
3. Notice where in your body you feel the "I can’t" pressure - imagine this is a crying baby and your job is to comfort it
4. Celebrate milestones
5. Connect to your “why”
