Wine Study Time, Italy here we come!

Here we go with a lil name identification, do any of these sound familiar? Barbera, Barolo, Barbaresco, Proseco, Chianti, Lambrusco, etc.... If they do great! If not even better!! These are all wine varietals from Italy. Some absolutely off the charts wines come the Land of Food and Wine. Many of these grapes are now being grown and turned into amazing wines here in California. But for this adventure yours "MUST COME FROM ITALY " So like normal, there is no cost to come to this study group, but there is a lil bit of effort required. First you must pick a good wine. (does not have to be expensive) Must have a rating of 88 or above from a well known rating entity. WS, WE, WA, etc. Yes, I must apply this rule as we have had some less than great wines show up here. BOO! Next, bring a one page sheet of notes on the wine, the region or both. Yes, this is about education so this is also A MUST. No worries if you are shy, hand me the notes and I will read them to the group for you. The last part Bring an appetizer for 10 that goes with this wine and region. I know it is a lil effort that has to be put in here, but every one of the study groups has always been completely full. Why? Because you get to learn a lil something, eat great food, enjoy wonderful conversation, and of course Drink Great Wine. See you on Friday! If any questions feel free to call me at[masked]-0809. Salute

Much fun, as usual...Doug's an awesome "wine" host! Just sad I had to leave early due to an early morning call the next day.

Doug, I really would love to come and I will try to make it but it depends on my plans that evening. I am preparing for a friends baby shower that I'm catering...how late are you going to be "learning?" Also, I'm super shy!!!

Definitely looking forward to learning more about the wines we drink and those that drink 'em with gusto!
