Back by popular demand! Bring your favorite object to this special SC Sketchup. It can be anything that's unique and interesting (other participants might want to draw it too): carved wooden statues, antique tea pots, high tech gadgets, or stuffed animals. We saw a wonderful hand-made puppet from Java amongst other interesting things at our last Object Meetup! Draw the object by itself or in a still life with other participants' objects.
Prepare for the unexpected! It's fun to see what kind of weird stuff folks like to draw. Objects shouldn't be much larger than 12" x 12". Don't worry if you can't find an object to draw, we've got plenty of cool things around the studio.
Do you enjoy drawing or curious to learn more about it? The Santa Cruz Learning-to-Draw Meetup takes place in a friendly, creative studio environment. Share your
ideas or phobias about drawing. Experiment with materials. Enjoy a conversation over some pencil doodles or dive into some charcoal sketches from life. This is a great opportunity for adults to meet fellow sketchers (or future fellow sketchers) and have an afternoon of creative fun. It's free! We have plenty of drawing materials on hand. If you've got a sketchbook, bring it along. And if you've got an object you'd like to draw, bring it too. Refreshments are served.
