Video Outline - The County of Santa Clara, California

Our public hearing starts on the video timer from 5 minutes to 30 minutes and 50 seconds. Please note our group is most of the public comments mixed in with another organization.

Vector Control speaks (including with public comment from us) from 1 hour, 51minutes and 56 seconds to 2 hours, 24 minutes and 50 seconds.

The Board asks many questions to Santa Clara County Vector Control and therefore they will need to submit a report to them “as soon as possible” with the following questions:

1. First question is, is there a need, that before you undertake an effort like this, the legitimate question is, do we need to do this?

2. Is it effective?  Are there other ways?

3. Is it safe?

4. Has the public been informed & engaged?

5. Have we been mindful of this sensitivity of the population and I am thinking for example, of infants and elders as well as those who have preexisting medical conditions.

6. Does the level of concern or let rise to the level that requires this?

7. What are the alternatives to current practice, if any? If not, why not?

8. Very important, Joe (Board of Supervisor) comments to Vector Control,

“I remember this issue because I started working on this when I was here from 97 to 2000, and then, I think that as the supervisor to the fruition as an actual ordinance or policy for the county, and is your operation talking with the folks at IPM here in the county?” Are the Vector, Control and the folks at Integrated Pest Management, talking to each other? Are they coordinating?

1. First question is, is there a need, that before you undertake an effort like this, the legitimate question is, do we need to do this?

• STOP FOGGING in big letters, like 3-4" tall, filling the whole page

• FOGGING IS TOXIC

Feel free to call me (Brandi) with any questions at[masked]-5958.

During our meeting, we will be holding up our signs.  We will be one of the first people to speak at 9:00AM so please come early at 8:30AM.

All are welcome to join on Tuesday to speak for 1 minute or even come to offer moral support.

Please email me the people interested in joining out mailing list.  Please include:

Name, Email and Phone Number.

VECTOR CONTROL will be spraying the Bay Area with a toxic pesticide called Zenivex all summer long if you don't stop this!

For more detailed information internet search “Zenivex”.

Vector Control claims they need to spay us to protect us from the alleged West Nile Virus. Statistics show that approximately 0.1% of those persons infected suffer from any serious symptoms. This is insignificant. Pesticides suppress the immune system, increasing the likelihood of contracting disease. This method is the least effective and the most dangerous to humans and non-target life forms.

Pesticides are NOT safe

Thank you everyone for your interest. Even though you don't live directly in the spray zone, Santa Cruz County quite possibly is getting the drift of the toxic pesticide Zenivex.

3 cities will be sprayed for hours TONIGHT with 4 spraying trucks and more spaying will occur on Thursday in another area of Santa Clara County
    We must stop this!

    Great News!

Our Environmental Lawyer is in the process of filing our lawsuit to stop the pesticide fogging (spraying) in the Bay Area.

*We need your help to stop this pesticide spraying by donating to our legal counsel fund.*

I guess I'm missing something here.....you want people from Santa Cruz to attend a Santa Clara County Supervisor's meeting......are you worried that spraying will migrate over to Santa Cruz county?

West Niles isn't officially in Santa Cruz yet: http://westnile.ca.go... But, Santa Clara sets a precedent for spraying here. Sadly, the pesticide they're spraying has a warning stating it's toxic to bees, as well as the very creatures that help to control mosquitoes, which in the long run could cause more mosquitoes! I'm in Santa Cruz, and I have no mosquitoes, but I do have lots of bats, dragonflies, amphibians, birds, and so on. West Niles (and mosquitoes) are here to stay, so I don't understand what they're trying to accomplish by spraying.

I am unable to attend but I am interested in ending the spraying and the seeding of clouds. The chemicals are very toxic. So, please keep me informed. Thanks.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
