This will NOT be a fast paced hike. We will walk at a casual pace catering to people that may not normally take long walks. Total distance will be about 2 to 3 miles, with a lunch break in between. Also, we will stop to see the scenary such as surfers and seals. We will also stop after about 15 minutes at a restroom if people need to while we watch the surfers. We'll be having a late lunch on the wharf at the Miramar which has a great view of the bay and a happy hour starting at 3pm. It features fried calamari for $4 a basket and $2 spicy fries a basket. We'll also see the seals that hang out under the wharf before we head back. Try and bring cash so we don't have to get a bunch of seperate checks if possible.
There is lots of free parking near the intersection of Westcliff dr on Woodrow ave. I strongly recommend dressing in layers, bring a windbreaker that balls up into a fanny pack, maybe pass on the shorts because it's getting a little cool in Santa Cruz near the ocean.
Take hwy 17 to santa cruz. Follow the signs north on 1 to half moon bay. Hwy 1 will turn into Mission st. Stay on Mission for about 4 lights. Turn left on Almar (look for a burger king, chase bank, safeway at the intersection). Follow Almar to Westcliff dr and turn left. Follow Westcliff dr about a 1/8 mile and look for Woodrow on the left at the first stop sign you come to.
I'll have my cell phone with me if you need to get in touch day of event:[masked]
