No need to rsvp to this posting, just show up if you want to go. Be prepared for wintery, breezy weather, but also be ready to peel it off it the sun is out; I recommend a wind breaker with a hood.
This will NOT be a fast paced hike. We will walk at a casual pace catering to people that may not normally take long walks. Total distance will be about 2 to 3 miles, with a lunch break in between. Also, we will stop to see the scenary such as surfers and seals. There is a restroom across the street from the lighthouse. We'll be having a late lunch on the wharf at the Miramar which has a great view of the bay and a happy hour starting at 3pm. It features fried calamari for $4 a basket and $2 spicy fries a basket. We'll also see the seals that hang out under the wharf before we head back. Try and bring cash so we don't have to get a bunch of seperate checks if possible.
You can park in the lot next to the lighthouse or accross the street. Typically at mid-afternoon during the week it should be possible to find parking there.
Take hwy 17 to santa cruz. Follow the signs north on 1 to half moon bay. Hwy 1 will turn into Mission st. Stay on Mission for about 4 lights. Turn left on Bay and follow it to the end and turn right onto Westcliff. Follow Westcliff dr about a mile and look for the lighthouse on the left.
I'll have my cell phone with me if you need to get in touch day of event:[masked]
