I have a diverse experience from the early 80's to 2009ish. It's been a very long time since doing any 'real' sailing, but I've sailed most of the Canadian and Puget Sound islands, off-shore from San Diego-Cabo-La Paz-Cabo-Puerto Vallarta, and some of the coast of Fiji in boats 28'- 55'. I've sailed some 'small' crafts dodging the boom (don't want to do that anymore). In the early 80's raced with the Ancient Mariners in San Diego for a couple years. More sailing in San Diego about 4 years ago, but not racing, just to enjoy.
Not sure what you mean by one-design (?). I'm interested in a fun, somewhat relaxed (races if not taken 'too' seriously) sailing environment. I can still be a helmsman, but my hands can no longer pull on sheets or lines (no grip, plus pain), or I make for a fun member by my love of sailing and being on the water. I hope that helps you decide how I might fit, I haven't sailed in Santa Cruz yet. I'd love an opportunity to be part of sailing in this community! Please, contact me if you need more info about my current abilities to be an active member, thanks!
My name is Phoenix, I've been in Santa Cruz just over 2 years and love it here! I love Sailing and Jazz, plus I'm an Artist and a Coach Practitioner. Looking to meet up with like-minded people as new friends and companions.
