Hike: Greyhound Rock State Marine Conservation Area

A 5-mile 300’ elevation gain walk on the beach. The tide will be low enough to explore the beach and the tide pools. We will be crossing Waddell Creek, which should be about 6 to 8” deep. Hikers can opt out at the creek crossing, if they choose. Restrooms are located at both ends of the hike. Warm clothes, windbreakers, and hiking sticks recommended. Bring water and lunch. Some of us plan to stop at Swanton Berry Farm on the way home for dessert; hope you can join us. The Greyhound Rock parking lot is 14.8 miles from Western Drive on the left side of Highway 1.
Leader: Tom Davey, 331-8430.

Light winds, clear skies, low enough tide to climb Greyhound Rock. We very fortunate to see a male Elephant Seal basking in the sun.

Hi, something has come up and I can't make it tomorrow. But love the idea of this group! Am a member of both Sierra and Ventana Wilderness and it's lots easier to find the info here! Will try to go back and change the RSVP if I can....

I should ask when you think we would be back in Santa Cruz?
Also I would be a westsider and I understand we would meet the corner of King and Mission. Park on King st. next to Shen's Gallery at 9:40. Is that correct?
