Hike past thick redwoods along the rushing waters of Fall Creek State Park, in Felton, CA. This cool, shady hike for a hot summer day, is listed on the Ventana website as about 6 miles long with 800 feet of elevation gain. I would like to lengthen it to 7 miles long, with 1200 feet of elevation gain, if that is OK with everyone going on the hike. We will see the Lime Kilns and Barrel Mill in this hidden gem. The longer version includes taking the Truck trail. Meet at the Santa Cruz Government Center at 9 am to carpool, or at 9:30 at the Felton-Empire Road park entrance. Return by 2 pm. Call for more information. Leaders: Allan Neymark, 457,2505 and Maggie Dickson. For more hikes see http://ventana.sierraclub.org/schedule .
