The Santa Cruz Group of the Sierra Club Presents:
Hiking the California Coastal Trail

The California Coastal Trail is network of public trails, both urban and wild, for walkers, bicyclists, equestrians and wheelchair riders along the 1,200-mile California coastline. The route consists of beaches, trails, and roadsides and is currently more than half complete.
Ted Merrill will give a slideshow presentation, including maps, of his experiences hiking a few of the wilder parts of the California Coastal Trail, some at the far end of the state and others closer to home.
A long-time Sierra Club member, Ted is an avid hiker and backpacker. When he was 17, he went on his first Sierra Club backpacking service trip and over the years has participated in numerous trail repair service trips with wilderness groups.
Ted is a retired software engineer who is always planning more backpacking trips. He lives in Santa Cruz and is also Webmaster for the Santa Cruz Sierra Club Group.
When: Tuesday, January 28th at 7:00 PM (6:30 PM social mingling time with healthy refreshments provided).
Where: The Live Oak (Green) Grange Hall at[masked]th Ave. near Capitola Road in Santa Cruz.
Parking is available, but try to arrive sustainably.
