Hike: DeLaveaga Park

  • Jul 17, 2014 · 9:30 AM

6 Miles, 800’ Elevation Gain

We’ll hike to the Top of the World Lookout and the old zoo site and take a few new connector trails. We’ll hike through a mixed forest of redwood, pine, madrone, buckeye, and bay, which will provide shade for about 80% of the hike. We’ll stop for lunch at the Clubhouse. Bring water and lunch (or buy a sandwich at the Clubhouse Lunch Shack). Leader: Tom Davey, 331-8430.

I like the "Werner Loop". On my cue Wayne, I got a kick as we whistled 'We All Live In a Blue Submarine'.

How would you describe the difficulty level of this hike. I looked at the parks and rec map and not sure which trail. One says it is fairly steep approaching the lookout.
