Enjoy Hawaiian food at The Reef/Pono Grill, and listen/dance to live Blues music

If you have not yet checked out The Reef/Pono Hawaiian Grill, 120 Union St, in downtown SC, then perhaps it's time for a Meetup! I go there every Tuesday to host their Blues Jam from 6:30 - 9:30. I have noticed groups come in to celebrate a birthday, and some networking groups who come in for a drink. The Reef is the bar and Pono makes the food happen. I enjoy their onion rings, their teriyaki beef and also their marinated tofu, among other things. Monday is Jazz night, Wed is open mic night, but I do my best to make Tuesday, Blues Jam Night, a good time. The house band and I play a set of music fro 6:30-7:30, then open it up to musicians who have signed up. We try to keep the quality and energy up and usually folks get up to dance. Then around 9:15, the house band comes back to "take us home". If business is still good we can go later than 9:30, up to around 10. While the music is taking place, there are usually surf videos on the big screen and a sports event at the bar. This is a weekly Tuesday event. It's a pretty big room so should be able to accomodate a Meetup. Note that the parking meters are in effect until 8 and it's 50 cents an hour.

Hello members, does anyone know an easy way to make this a weekly event without needing to input the info each time?

you can set up an edit if made host. i believe one of the options is weekly. but, you must then make sure if this no longer happens to stop the series. for me, have wanted to go to this, but have grandchildren living here now and don't like leaving dog home alone with them. will try to pay attention or contact me via the url under my profile to try to help you set this up. might be able to get dog sitter one time and go. this is only a temp situation for us.

Thanks Janie, for getting back to me on this. Tomorrow is last one for December, then weekly in 2014.

It sure was great to see you all tonight at the jam. Tell your friends and perhaps we will see you again soon. We are there every Tues, but not Christmas eve or New Years Eve.

Sorry I haven't been able to join the Transplants fun activities lately, but please don't give up on me. I hope to continue meeting up for future events.

Do you think the music will be too loud to have conversations?

I've never tried the Reef but I think it's about time I did. Sounds great! I'll try hard to make it. I look forward to meeting everyone. Cheers

I LOVE live music - especially the blues!! This sounds like fun. I will try to get there. Would love to dance a bit and the teriyaki beef and marinated tofu sound interesting. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

My friend Caroline Trigg Callendar is in the group and she is a big supporter of my music. Any live music fans out there?
