Walk West Cliff - "Early bird version"

Not to be confused with "Walk West Cliff", presented by Sally... :-)

Hi everyone,

as I crave some exercise after the holidays, and thought some of you might too, this is my desperate "call to arms" for other transplants wanting to move. :-) An early version of our much beloved West Cliff walks that usually takes place on Wednesday afternoons. As it is still pretty dark pretty early, I thought maybe those with a flexible schedule might want to join me at an earlier time for a brisk walk along the cliff, interspersed with high swells, low tides, surfers, otters, and other creatures that might cross our path.

The walk is about 4 to 4.5 miles, I think, from the Surfer Monument to Natural Bridges and back, and it usually takes about 1.5 hours if we don't dawdle.

I suppose once daylight allows for a later starting time, our fearless leader Sally will take over again. :-) And there may also be some Wednesday R&R coming up... so you can reward yourself after a walk (if there are enough people interested in/able to make an earlier time, we could repeat this).

Dogs are welcome, friends even more, so get off the sofa or just skip work for a hopefully beautiful time outside...

Questions? Problems finding us? Call 408.355.8870. Complaints? Please specify the complaint, my mother will write me an appropriate excuse that I will forward to you... :-)

Thanks everybody for joining me this afternoon. Although a little overcast, it was great being out again and to move a little, see some surfers and talk with new and familiar Santa Cruzans (does that word exists?). :-) Thanks for the lovely stroll, hopefully we can repeat this next week...

Thanks for organizing. It was a nice walk & nice to see everyone. I've seen the term a number of times locally. Its a Santa Cruz thing. :)

Can anyone possibly give me a ride from the Abbey coffee shop on Mission? I could walk it but it will have been a busy day beforehand...

If my motivation and need for exercise does not disappear (I'm pretty positive it won't), we'll do this again for sure! :-) I also really miss good walks and good conversation with you guys!
