Another Wednesday is approaching fast - and with it comes another walk. :-)
Want to get out and enjoy a little Santa Cruz? Want to get going and meet new people? Want to move while having a great conversation? No problem!
Join us for another walk along the picturesque West Cliff. Meeting point is at the Surfer Monument (= the bronze surfer statue; NOT at the light house) and from there, we walk to Natural Bridges and back.
This round trip is about 4 to 4.5 miles, and it usually takes us about 1.5 hours. Please note that we walk at a rather brisk pace. Really. No dawdling, now strolling, we're serious about this. :-)
If the pace is too fast for you or you don't want to walk the entire distance - no problem. Bring a book, chose a nice bench along the way and we pick you up on our way back. Or bring a friend, start out with us and walk at your own pace - we pick you up on the way back, too. Or... accept the challenge and bring yourself up to speed. :-)
In case you have to slay a dragon in order to get here, run into any other delaying circumstances or have any kind of question - please call or text me at 408.355.8870. If you are afraid to do so because you don't know how to pronounce my name... :-) No problem; it sounds like "Mycah".
Parking: It's getting closer to summer, the swells are nice, so finding some place to park might be a challenge. Usually, Pelton Ave is an option, but the small side streets off West Cliff Drive closer to downtown are also good (e.g. Santa Cruz St, Monterey St, ...).
Wednesday is supposed to be nice and sunny. Let's hope this doesn't change.
And another little thing:
There's another Meetup gathering after the walk, for watching soccer at Rosie McCann's downtown (US vs. Mexico). We should finish in time to be there for the first kick, so why not end the evening with nice new friends, a drink and a sports event?! For easy sign-up, please click here:
The Walk West Cliff-RSVP-Policy: Easy as pie...
If you want to come, please RSVP. We all love surprises now and then, but it's hard to keep track of people if they just show up... (I admit we're not climbing the Mount Everest, but this is also about commitment and respect. :-) )
If you RSVP'ed and see that you cannot make it, please un-RSVP if possible so that we don't wait for you in vain.
If you RSVP'ed and don't show up (and don't get in touch afterwards)... Well, your loss and we tolerate that to a certain extent. Sometimes, this just happens. To ALL of us. But after 3 No-Shows, we will most likely block you (if your excuse isn't really EXCEPTIONALLY good!).
