Sorry for announcing this late, just got back from my internet free camping trip.
Let's meet up for our weekly walking (and talking) exercise. :-)
We meet at the Surfer Monument (= at the bronze surfer statue across from St. Joseph; NOT at the light house) for our round trip to Natural Bridges and back. We wait a little for "latecomers", but usually take off after 5 minutes. The "trail" (aka sidewalk) is about 4 to 4.5 miles long, and it usually takes us about 1.5 hours. We try to walk at a rather brisk pace and so we usually don't stroll along the cliff (unless we see exciting wildlife, of course). :-)
If you feel the pace might be too fast for you or you don't want to walk the entire distance - no problem (REALLY!). Take a break on a bench, and we pick you up on our way back. Bring a friend, start out with us and walk at your own pace - we pick you up on the way back, too. :-) Also, if you have to be somewhere and can't join us for the entire walk - no problem! You can always turn around without us chasing you. ;-)
If you run late, you can park a little further up and try to join/find us, or just follow us along the sidewalk and then join the group on the way back. We're usually easy to identify (check the profile pictures beforehand, and there's also my cell# somewhere in here). :-)
Dogs are welcome (if socialized, of course, and not a danger to the public :-) ), and kids are, too (if they can run along on their own or are in a stroller/carrier).
Any questions, remarks, comments, etc? Please comment here or call/text me at[masked] (better for short notice things coming up). Afraid to call because you don't know how to pronounce my name...? :-) No problem; it sounds like "Mycah".
Parking: The smaller side streets off West Cliff Drive closer to downtown are usually good (e.g. Santa Cruz St, Monterey St, or also Pelton Ave, ...). When the weather is great during summer time, it might take a little longer to find a spot though...
The Walk West Cliff-RSVP-Policy: Easy as pie...
If you want to come, please RSVP. It makes it so much easier to know for how many people we're waiting...
If you RSVP'ed and see that you cannot make it, please un-RSVP if possible so that we don't wait for you in vain.
If you RSVP'ed and don't show up (and don't get in touch afterwards)... Well, your loss.:-) Sometimes, this just happens. To ALL of us. But if it happens too often, you might end up being blocked.
