The Dickens Fair, San Francisco

The Dickens Fair is a Victorian extravaganza set in the streets of Ye Olde London Towne, a fun start to the Christmas season - with the ghost of Christmas past and present wandering around to remind us! You will meet Mr. Pickwick and Oliver Twist, as well as Scrooge and Tiny Tim; there are street urchins and ladies of debatable character, pickpockets of dependable character and pubs from Olde England with more character and lots of Ye Olde English ale (as well as a fair amount of Californian, I see). There are costumes and renacting on the streets of all Dicken's favorite characters, dance halls and shows, music and merriment everywhere. And plenty of great Christmas gifts to buy for something a little different than Starbucks gift cards again!

We can figure out car pooling or convoying, but please buy your own tickets you can order them online, provide your own costumes or go as you are, costumes are not necessary! Any questions, let me know.

Hi Freddy, If you want to drive in convoy I am driving up to Summit and leaving a car there, then we can drive together or you can follow me and friends over to Cow Palace/Dickens Fair. The weather is going to be bad tomorrow morning so allow time to get up there. Call me if you want to figure out details on phone. [masked]

By the way, I can give someone a ride up there, but I am stopping off at Summit Road on the way back, and not going on to Felton or Santa Cruz. If anyone wants to drive to Summit Road and leave a car there to car pool, that will work. There is a small parking area just off Hwy 17 on Summit Road where we can meet. Re: meeting up over there - I will be in costume, but will figure out where to hide the cell phone when I get there - Mad Sal's can be chaotic, so if you don't see me or recognize me - call!! Make sure you take the number -[masked]

Thinking I might ride the train in to avoid the parking and driving in the city. Public Transport: Ride BART to London! Take BART or Muni to the Glen Park BART Station, then board the FREE Courtesy Shuttle traveling to and from the Glen Park BART station every 20 minutes, from 10:15 AM to 7:15 PM each Fair day.

Hi Matt, This sounds intriguing. Do you have a feel for how late you will stay? I would like to carpool with someone. I can either drive or help contribute for gas. Thanks.
