“Guided meditation and frank discussion of practical application of mindfulness in one's life to reduce stress, work productively with emotions & thoughts, and help create lives with more creativity, agility, ease and well-being.”
Appropriate for all levels of experience.
Group is led by Stephanie Nash (who is also a Senior Teacher for Shinzen Young.)
We meet from 2-4pm twice each month (on the 1st & 3rd Sunday.) We usually begin with an introduction, followed by a guided meditation (25-40 min). We then have discussion about our experience - and another guided meditation. This format varies from week to week.
Each session will explore sensory experience in interesting ways using mindfulness techniques to make our lives richer, more enjoyable - and be less caught in habit patterns of unpleasant emotions & thoughts. We will explore helpful strategies for working with the stuff that life serves up, in a way that creates ease and well-being for all.
As Steph says alot, "It's now about becoming a better meditator - it's about having a better life, about being present for it." And another common quote of hers, " Medication is just the gym (well, can also be a conduit, depending on how you use it.) But the skill of meditation is a tool, you becoming happy in your life is what it helps with."
Please bring questions about your experience or practice (regardless of what kind of meditation you do or have tried.) Beginners are heartily welcomed.
