Why are you interested in new technology?

To find unique and useful applications. Ideally, to be deployed globally. My inventions make interactive shop windows. A shop can have an electronic screen in its window, facing the sidewalk. The screen shows something for sale, and a barcode. A pedestrian scans the barcode with her phone. It decodes and launches a browser with the web page. The web server is assumed to also control the screen in the shop window. A feedback loop. So the web page on her phone becomes a remote control for the big screen. Using Off the Shelf hardware. The web server makes paired web pages. One is a low bandwidth page for the phone. The other is a rich content page for the big screen. The shop window is the hardest part of a shop to arrange. Not enough space to show all items. NOW it can. Effectively, the shop window now has an Internet address. The window is equivalent to a web page. So the efficacy of the window can be measured. Traditionally, no metrics are easily available for the window.

What type of new technology you are most curious about (industry, size, B2B/B2C, etc.)?

Another use is electronic billboards. Like in Times Square NY. 2 people can play a turn based game in front of the entire plaza. Another use is in movie theatres. In the room where the movies are shown. An electronic screen on a sidewall can show a barcode. Trailers are shown on the main screen. The barcode lets a patron buy a ticket to the future screening of the movie shown in the trailer. The screen also shows the #tickets bought by this method, and the chance of a discount if enough tickets are bought. Dynamic group purchases. A gamification of purchases. To incent other patrons who have not bought to then buy. Everyone who buys gets the lowest price. This is an extra revenue source for the theatre. It is also a measure of the efficacy of the trailers. The theatre has a second revenue source. It can sell the sales data to the studios. Like Groupon, but inside out. Here the buyers are inside the store (=theatre), and not scattered around the city.
