This is a group for anyone interested in meditation and in meditating with other people. You can learn beginning meditation, you can hear talks, you can sit with other people. There is a wonderful community at the Santa Rosa Creek Zen Center: friendly and welcoming and interesting to talk to, with a sense of humor and a sense of art and a sense of hospitality. There's music and laughing as well as meditation, silence and depth. The center where we meet is beautiful, with a creek out the back and a garden and lots of windows. Santa Rosa is the original home of Pacific Zen Institute. We have regular meditation programs on Monday evenings and Sunday mornings. We also host classes and short retreats, as well as longer retreats in other North Bay locations. Our director and founding teacher is John Tarrant Roshi, author of Bring Me the Rhinoceros and Other Zen Koans to Save Your Life, and The Light Inside the Dark: Zen, Soul and the Spiritual Life.
