THANX! It was a great ad-hoc birthday party for me; Gr8 fun-loving and warm-spirited HAI community: Good weather, good food, good bonfire, good vibes, good hugs!

Hi Jane, I'm so sorry we missed you - we had 2 blue signs that said "HAI" on them (aka: Human Awareness Institute) & a banner that I guess you saw BUT looking at this MeetUp I can see that we don't have "HAI" on it. HAI is the non-profit that produces the actual workshops that our group is related to- www.hai.org We'll change that. Thanks for that "info!" melinda

Thanks to organizers and to those who set up and cleaned up afterwards. I had a lovely time. I am grateful for this opportunity happening in Santa Cruz. Really appreciate the bonfire, potluck. Yum!

The great thing about HAI folks is that even if you don't know many or any people, it doesn't matter. I always find folks to connect with. Twin Lakes is always a great place as its filled with locals having a good time.

I had about the same experience as Erik. I think a lot of folks assume a bonfire is about evening, so we arrive then. Also, the parking is free after 5pm and the beachfolks are going home leaving spaces...I had a great time and was happy to meet new HAI-ers.

I arrived an hour after it started around 3pm with some organic food that I had prepared and stayed about 1-1/2 hours. During that time a promised table never arrived so there was no place to put the food. I began to get very hungry around 4:30 and left to go home and eat. There were only about 5-6 people there when I left.

Sorry you left Drew. I got there at about 6 and there were about 30 happy folks, tables, food, and after a bit a nice warm bonfire. I left at 9 and it was still hopping. Try again!

I will be in Waikiki on the Beach or in the water snorkeling, so can't make it. Have fun.

If there is no parking, bring your bike and park in the Crow’s Nest lot (pay toll on the way in). Or walk from there, it’s only a quarter mile to the beach.

This is not to be missed. It’s such a great beach for a party. We’ll have the place almost to ourselves. A perfect place to loose ourselves to wild chanting and dancing around the fire. Are the powers that be going to bring the wood? What about coat hangers for the hot dogs? In case you didn’t notice, those are BBQ tongs in my hand.
