Sunset Bridge Walk ...8:00PM

We will be walking the bridge tonight, under the bridge at Bird Key, and back.  The sun should be setting and the lights should be on walking back.  Following our return lets hang out at O'Learys Tiki Bar for a cool down beverage and some music. Wear comfortable shoes!  Meet at the Sailor Statue (Unconditional Surrender).  Make some new friends and enjoy the sunset!

We had 30 people who rolled the dice on the weather and came up winning. No rain, another beautiful sunset, and a cool breeze during the walk. Topping off the evening with a 3/4 star covered sky while socializing at O'Leary's for approxiamtel 1 1/2 hrs, and of course meeting more new friends who came to walk.

Perfect evening. The rain stayed away but had cooled off the weather. A pretty sunset, too.

It is still dark and thundering here in Palmer Ranch...so as much as I enjoy this walk, will pass for tonight

From looking at Weather-in-Motion for 8PM tonight it appears that we will be dry for a few hours around the harbor area of Sarasota and St Armands Circle.

    Hi Larry,
I might not be back in town to join you, but will come if I am.

Larry, I signed up! I'm going to do my best to be there Thursday night. I'm having a small back procedure done in the afternoon that day. Hopefully, I won't need recovery time.

I just joined. I'd like to join you on May 29 and bring my husband. Are dogs allowed?

    1 · May 26

    • Larry N.

Sue, dogs are fine on the walk. At O'Leary's they have a sign with the Sarasota regulation prohibiting dogs in public eating venues. That hasn't stopped people having a dog there just about everytime I have been there. O'Leary's doesn't say anything. Normally they sit in the area we sit at, the picnic tables along the waters edge.

Thank you, Larry. I may or may not bring the doggie. Maybe I'll wait until another time. We have taken her to O'Leary's picnic tables and other outdoor restaurants. Looking forward to Thursday!

Looking forward to this walk. Only did it once back in Feb. and want to reconnect. Did you leave right at 8pm last week? I stopped by around 8:04 and saw no one so left.

    • Larry N.

Lori, we left about 8:01, the sunset is a few minutes after 8PM and I tried to get to the north side of the bridge before sunset. We go under the bridge to start with. Sorry we missed you.

Do we meet at the SAilor Statue at 7:30pm/where do we park our car??

    May 7, 2014

    • Larry N.

Janet, park at the statue or down at the other end of the lots at O'Leary's (fountain and archway). Half our meetup is walking the bridge and the other half is going to O'Leary's afterward for 1 - 1 1/2 hrs of socializing and planning other things that aren't necessarily posted as events. Most of us have made many friends in Sarasota Walkers and do lots together.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
