WordPress natively allows us create posts and then organize them by categories and tags. You can also create what's commonly called, "Custom Content Types" or "Custom Post Types" to further organize your information.
For example, a music website, could have custom fields for artist, label, release date, genre and more. A cooking site could have fields that represent ingredients, prep time, tools and more. The options for post types and categories is almost limitless.
You don't have to be an experienced coder to create these custom types and fields or display them on your site. There are several free plugins in the repository that help you create your custom content types.
We'll be looking a free tool: "Custom Content Type Manager" http://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-content-type-manager/
We'll also look at a Free-to-Premium tool: "Types"
Premium version (this is an affiliate link for me)
If you have any questions prior to the Meetup, please let me know. Maybe we can use your situation for an example.
