I began teaching this community class in 2008 in conjunction with the karate studio in order to make yoga affordable for everyone. Now we have expanded to 2 classes to accommodate more advanced practitioners!

The original class is at 9:30am on Saturday. This is a Yoga 101 class where we focus on alignment, breath, balance and the basic poses. This class is open to beginners and all others.

The intermediate class begins at 8:00am. This is a vinyasa style class where we link the breath with movement, build heat within the body and elevate the heart rate. Those attending this class should have previous yoga experience.

The suggested donation for each class is $5.

Please come a few minutes early your first time to familiarize yourself with the studio. If you do not have a mat I have several that I'm happy to share!

A little about me, the teacher. My name is Rebecca. I have been teaching yoga since 2001. I am a 200 hour registered yoga teacher and have had specialty courses to work with Pre & Post-natal women, seniors, cancer survivors and others with special needs. I work in the fitness industry as a personal trainer as well and have a background in dance and karate which gives me a unique understanding of the body. I feel that movement is the key to life. These Saturday morning classes are special to me as I have always wanted to be able to offer yoga to anyone who is searching.

On a side note, the karate academy is located near Cowles Mountain and Mission Trails Park. This makes for a convenient morning of hiking and yoga!!
