Messing Around In Kayaks

  • September 14, 2013 · 8:30 AM
  • Trails to Rails

We'll paddle from Rails to Trails on Hwy 80, heading east, towards Fort Pulaski and the Savannah River. Explore the little isolated Islands and beaches and look for wildlife and dolphins.

It is a $10 fee to join our group if you come with your own equipment for this trip. It's $35 if you need to rent equipment. Just write in the comment box when signing up if you need to rent a kayak or your bringing your own kayak and your cell every time you join in one of our paddles.

See you on the water soon! ;-)

On the way to Tybee Island after you go over all the islands and start the drive thru the marsh grass on both sides of car before the bridge to Tybee. When starting this drive as soon as you go over the long flat bridge, leaving Wilmington Island, with a boat dock clearly visiable on your right when starting onto bridge. After the bridge ends there is a sharp right hand turn in the road, shortly after on your left you will see places to pull over and park. This is the Rails to Trails walk. Lots of people jog, hike and walk here along the water. We will be launching from there.

Beverly, will this trip be okay for my son?

    1 · September 8, 2013

Should be as long as the winds are low.

      September 9, 2013

  • Cindy M.

The last kayak meetup I was going to join was only open to folks who needed to rent a kayak. I have my own kayak. Is this ok? May I still come ?

We have always allowed people with their own kayaks to join in on our paddle. It is a $10 fee to join our group if you come with your own equipment. A few of our trips are $15 to join, but most are $10. It's $35 if you need to rent equipment. Just write in the comment box when signing up if you need to rent a kayak or your bringing your own kayak and your cell every time you join in one of our paddles. Thanks Cindy, sorry for the confusion. Not sure how you got that impression. We love paddling with everyone!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
