Eventsourcing at E-Post

This time around we will be hosted by the E-post. Daniel Westheide, who presented this talk at, will present: Event Sourcing with Akka

"Event Sourcing, CQRS and Memory Image are architectural patterns that are often used together. Originating in the Domain Driven Design community, they are mostly implemented in a very object-oriented way with a mutable domain model.

However, the concept of event sourcing is inherently functional, and hence very well suited for being implemented in a functional way.

In this talk, I will give an overview of the rationale behind employing these patterns and how we can leverage the tools we have available in Scala to implement them, using Akka actors, software transactional memory, and the Eventsourced library. "

Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Please, RSVP as soon as you can as the meetup is limited to 60.

Thank you, to the dedicated attendees (it was a hot day!), hosts and the speaker. The round of beers afterwards was much fun. You have an idea for a talk; or a venue for us to hold our next meetup. Get in touch today!

Thanks for the positive feedback. :)

As promised, here are the links to the example project as well as to the slides:

These are the slides from flatMap(Oslo), but apart from some tiny changes, they are basically the same as the ones you saw at E-Post.

A well structured talk, a good short code example/demonstration and also the discussion about the possible uses of eventsourcing was very interresting.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
