Hello Ladies,

So the votes are in and tallied, and this month was a tight race.  Now that everything is said and done, we will be reading:

Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office: 101 Unconscious Mistakes Women Make That Sabotage Their Careers (A NICE GIRLS Book)

I recently saw this book on a list of must read books for women (along with the runner up, Bossy Pants), so I am excited that someone suggested this book.  It should be a good read, and I'm hoping that we all take away valuable information.

You can buy your book here:Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office: 101 Unconscious Mistakes Women Make That Sabotage Their Careers

I have not decided on a location yet, but wanted to give you enough time to get the book, and read it.  I will let you know as soon as I know.

We have been having some really wonderful discussions at our book clubs, so I look forward to another great meeting.  Looking forward to seeing you there ladies!

Book Description:

If you work nonstop without a break...worry about offending others and back down too easily...explain too much when asked for information....or "poll" your friends and colleagues before making a decision, chances are you have been bypassed for promotions and ignored when you expressed your ideas. Although you may not be aware of it, girlish behaviors such as these are sabotaging your career!

Dr. Lois Frankel reveals why some women roar ahead in their careers while others stagnate. She's spotted a unique set of behaviors--101 in all--that women learn in girlhood that sabotage them as adults. Now, in this groudbreaking guide, she helps you eliminate these unconscious mistakes that could be holding you back--and offers invaluable coaching tips you can easily incorporate into your social and business skills. If you recognize and change the behaviors that say "girl" not "woman", the results will pay off in carrer opportunites you never thought possible--and in an image that identifies you as someone with the power and know-how to occupy the corner office.

Sorry everyone. He just got home. I assume by the time I got there it would be 9pm-ish. By that time I'm sure you'll all be ready to head home. Such a bummer. :(

Hello Ladies, I have just been made aware from my bf that his head boss has unexpectedly dropped in, and will most likely be working late tonight. That keeps me on baby duty, until he can relieve me (which at this point, he his not sure when that will be). I'm really sorry in advance if I am unable to make it. I'm sure that you all will have a lovely discussion on your impression of the book, whether you agree that we need to "stop being girls",what you have taken away from it, the role of women in the business/work world, advantages/disadvantages of being a women, and so forth. There are a lot of different directions the discussion can go, so I'm hoping he is not stuck for too long. I'll update as soon as I know more.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
