StarCraft conversion of "The Legion of Gold" (1981 Gamma World module)

Bring your dice if you have them. Character creation takes about 10 minutes... faster if you are familiar with the StarCraft system.  We have an ongoing campaign and can integrate new characters immediately.

Whoops?! Once you come down with a Lethal Dose of Radiation Poisoning, the rings tend to come off the grenades and the Gauss Pistol gets set to rapid fire.....

On a lighter note, after my minion was devoured by swarming vulture wolves, and after the fool activated the tracking equipment that led the Confed to my Lair; a couple of fellow fugitives stumbled into the Confeds assault of my Bunker. I cleverly used them and a Confed Ghost to mislead the Firebat tac team. Having used my escape tunnel and extracted the Ghost, The Mutant and the Ugly, I slyly guided them into cleaning out the rest of the bunkers in the area. These persons should make wonderful catspaws in trying achieving my my master plan. Muhahahaha!!!!

Woh! "...the party located a group of Glowers, irradiated colonists who sought to make friends", "...the Glowers were resting in pieces." What kind of bloodthirsty savages are you guys? Some colonists get a minor skin condition and they get "Two fragmentation grenades, a few spent guass rounds" thrown at them? Where is your humanity? Some unfortunate people get some luminous paint speckles splashed on their hands or clothes and they are slaughtered out of hand like Mars Flies in a Klein bottle? Surely there must be a drop of compassion in the group for those poor unfortunate souls. Why can't we all just be friends? I think Glow-in-the-dark people are hot! (+5 Gy)

Interesting setting. We've obviously been given some bad intel however. No golden army. Though we did find some odd glowing guys that might have started some other rumors. Looks like our mutate may have gotten even stranger after that encounter.

Terran ghost operative infiltrated party to gather information for the Confederates concerning the whereabouts of their missing adjutant hardware. Confederate detachment was successfully averted and an Antigan holdout was discovered hiding in the abandoned bomb shelters. After running into some endemic denizens, the party located a group of Glowers, irradiated colonists who sought to make friends. Two fragmentation grenades, a few spent guass rounds, and a munched or cookie later, the Glowers were resting in pieces. Now with the Confederate hardware returned to command, the Ghost is left with a decision to make, to continue helping the party or returning to base. Meanwhile, the party has yet to locate the mysterious Legion of Gold or gain allegiance of the Antigan locals.

Where is the system and publisher? found D6 Variant and a 3.5 version as well.

The system we use is LOOSELY based on the Alternity version of StarCraft. We have a home-brewed system that is highly streamlined and game tested for optimal enjoyment. It makes for quick combat and more fun for the players, yet remains strategic and retains role-playing dependencies. Rules are very simple and easy to apply. It is a combination of Alternity and Gamma World rules, with all of the fat trimmed off. It would be the antithesis of D&D 3.5 as far as rule complexity. The units and structure of the table top role-playing game is largely dependent upon the StarCraft computer game in regard to NPC units, character classes, damage, armor, abilities, psionics, lore, game context, etc.

I was just looking into StarCraft at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarCraft:_The_Board_Game . Am I right in thinking this is like Risk (Star Wars or 2210 A.D editions)? or will it be more free form roll playing like Gamma World? Will there be dice rolls for stats or a point build system?

    • Kris A.

No, this is nothing like StarCraft Risk. It is not a board game. It is an actual role-playing system, much like Gamma World. There are individual characters, die rolls, stats, weapons, gear, skills, etc. Players control one character, their own. We use a dry-erase mat and miniatures from the Risk game for battle demonstration purposes only. It also helps to illustrate complex tunnels and installations. And, yes, there is a character building system where you gain experience points and can improve your character's traits.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
