Ecopsychology lecture.

Studies demonstrate that we have a physical and psychological need for nature. So why are we more alienated from the environment than ever before? Peter Kahn and Scott Sampson will examine that question in "Ecopsychology: Reinventing the Human-Nature Relationship in the Digital Age." The presentation will look at our relationship with nature and how we can flourish in sync with the natural world.

Hi Mary. I also attended but wasn't exactly sure where we should meet up. The traffic leading into Seattle was horrible and I was approximately 40 minutes delayed. Do we have a contingency in the event of folks being late where we ought to sit/meet?

Hi Tom, sorry I missed you. I had just said, let's meet up back of the room at the end, and I'd be wearing my purple glasses frames and a black beret. Diane D found me, but nobody else did. It was my first Meetup with SoM, so not sure what's a good way to orchestrate the "meet up" part. Thoughts?

Hmm, what am I doing wrong? 44 attending, and I only found one?! Good lectures, though, the last one pretty inspirational. I would have liked more evidence that we need nature. Except for some slight references to small studies in the first talk, the speakers assume we need it. As do I, but looks like there's a young new generation that isn't missing a direct relationship with nature.

Anyway, I'd actually love to get to know some others who share my interest in these matters. How do we do that? Thanks.

BTW, I'll be back at Kane Hall again tomorrow night, debating between Cathy Davidson's lecture and the one on law and memory. Anybody else?

I missed the registration, if anyone registered a +1 that is no longer attending, please let me know, thanks!

Is it sold out? I attended a sold-out one last week, and there was still room. Just come.

I'm thinking Cafe Allegro, 4214 University, after the lecture. Comments?

Hey everyone, be sure you RSVP to link above. Another lecture, next week, is "sold out."

Thanks, Jennifer, but I believe that would involve driving. My preference would be just to walk over to the Ave and see what we see. There's an alleyway coffee place over there I like. I'll find out the name.

Hi Mary, Not sure if it good but at least it is fairly close: The Ram Restaurant & Big Horn Brewery (University Village), 2650 NE University Village St., Seattle, WA, 98105. (206) 525-3565. http://www.theram.com/washington/seattle.html

Wow! I'm delighted so many want to do this! But how do we find each other? When I went to my first SoM meetup at Town Hall, I never did find you. Does somebody have a sign?

Apparently no answers though, Jeff! So you all see me in the photo, right, with the distinctive eyeglasses, purple, round shape? You can look for me beforehand, and afterwards, let's say I'll hang out in the back of the room, with my eyeglasses on and my black beret as well. Anybody know a good spot in the area to get some refreshments and conversation?
